Lake Whitney Fishing Report
"Hot, Hot, and More Hot with some Wind"
Fished hard Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The Stripers seem to have moved some this week
possibly to some deeper water. Monday was good on the South end for Stripers up to 12 pounds and
Whites in good numbers. Mostly trolling with downriggers over structure. Tuesday morning had some
success with live shad, but wasn't able to control drift as well as I like due to the wind. Fished
Tuesday afternoon and had luck trolling with downriggers until just after sundown when the bite died.
We ended up catching some 19-20'' Stripers and good numbers of White Bass. Tried some Catfishing
after bite died off but didn't have much luck. Fished until Midnight or so. Wednesday Fished until
2:00pm. Began targeting White Bass and had a very good morning. Around lunchtime, fish seemed to
move to some deep structure. We began drifting live shad and hooked up some more White Bass and
a handfull of Stripers up to 22''. All in all, a good start to the week considering it was hot and pretty
windy on Lake Whitney.
